Ettan Snus
 Ettan snus have been around for 180 years. The company is one of the oldest active brands in Sweden, and has been the same since it was very first made. Many years ago, nose snuff was popular with the aristocratic society. However, the French Revolution killed that popularity, and European switch to cigars. However, Sweden developed a new way of using snus, which involves coarse grinding them, moistening them, salting, and then placing under the upper lip. This trend quickly caught on because of its hands-free abilities to enjoy nicotine, and was a staying force in the world by the 1820s.
Ljunglöfs N:o 1Even though the owner of Ettan Snus started out in 1821 taking over an existing factory, he was not happy with the progress or the end result. As such, he went and developed his own manufacturing method that was unique, and formed Ettan. This happened in 1822. The brand was actually named Ljunglöfs N:o 1, which was popular among manufacturers to denote the highest quality product available. It was the people who actually called the product by its current name, which eventually caught on and became a part of the company as well.
Although the creator of this brand was very successful and well known, his son was actually the one that came to be the infamous ‘king of in snus’ Sweden when he took over the company in 1860. The sun had entered how the taste for snus, and an unusually large nose. These two odd combinations gave him the ability to become the most successful businessmen during the 19th century in Sweden. He would test freshness every morning by putting them in his nose, testing the aroma, and then sneezing in his handkerchief. If he approved, he would nod his head and the batch would be made.
Second-largest snus brandThere are three variations of Ettan snus in production today. They include Ettan Loose, which is the classic formula, Ettan Portion, launched in 1990, and the Ettan White Portion, which was developed in 2006. Thanks to the son of the founder, and his demand for high quality in everything that he did in life, the company is still going strong today. Ettan snus are one of the most popular products that people can buy, and are available in many countries around the world. Ettan is second-largest in producing snus, only to the infamous General Snus Company. Their products are still made using the recipe from 180 years ago.
