How I quit smoking with Swedish snus

I have been smoking for 25 years, although I once quit for 10 years. I started up after those 10 years because of the stresses of my job. Of course, the cigarettes did not do much for the stress, they only made me feel that I was in control of the stress. I was a reluctant smoker, and I made a number of attempts to quit cigarettes, never successful. I used nicotine gum, but it did just not give me the satisfaction that cigarettes did.

However, one day while surfing the web, I came across an article on a mental health site, schizophrenia.com. The article was about smoking and mental illness and what could be used as a "harm reduction" product instead of cigarettes. They mentioned snus as such a product, so I promptly did a Google search for "snus" and I came upon the BuySnus website. I was excited when I saw all the products offered for sale, so I just read the descriptions of the different snus products, and I selected 5 different tins of snus.

Well, after much anticipation, my package of snus arrived. I must say I fondled the cans and tried to make a decision as to which one I should try first. I settled on General portion. What an experience! I positioned the portion in my upper lip and let the mouth juices penetrate it and I had a fine snussing session. I was elated - I could finally enjoy tobacco without smoking it! Over the coming days, I tried a number of different snus, and it just reinforced my desire to quit smoking and snus instead. I quit smoking about three days after I tried snus.

It's been three months now that I have quit cigarettes, and I don't miss them at all. I enjoy snus so much that returning to cigarettes is not even an option.

I am a member of the "SnusOn" internet forum, and we offer encouragement to each other when one of us is quitting smoking. I find this support to be most helpful. We all have different stories to tell, but our objective is the same - quit the cigs for snus.

Well, there's a lot of of snus products left to try, and I look forward to trying them out over the coming months.
